Потому что человеческое ухо способно услышать звук с частотой от 16 Гц до 20000Гц. Ни больше,ни меньше,если,конечно,нет нарушений слухового аппарата.

Why can't humans hear sounds at low frequencies (0-15 Hz) and why does it cause a sense of panic?

When it comes to hearing sounds, humans have a limited range of frequencies that they can perceive. The audible range for most individuals is typically between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz. Frequencies below 20 Hz are considered infrasound, while frequencies above 20,000 Hz are considered ultrasound.

The reason why humans cannot hear sounds at very low frequencies, such as 0-15 Hz, is due to the limitations of the human auditory system. The human ear is composed of various structures, including the outer ear, middle ear, and inner ear. Sound waves are collected by the outer ear, travel through the ear canal, and reach the eardrum in the middle ear. From there, the vibrations are transmitted to the inner ear, where they are converted into electrical signals that can be interpreted by the brain.

The inner ear contains the cochlea, which is responsible for detecting different frequencies of sound. The cochlea is lined with tiny hair cells that are sensitive to specific frequencies. These hair cells vibrate in response to sound waves, and the vibrations are then converted into electrical signals that are sent to the brain for processing.

At very low frequencies, the vibrations produced by the sound waves are too slow to effectively stimulate the hair cells in the cochlea. As a result, the brain does not receive any signals related to those frequencies, and the sound is not perceived by the individual. This is why humans cannot hear sounds at frequencies below the audible range.

Now, regarding the sense of panic that low-frequency sounds can sometimes cause, it is important to note that this is not a universal response and can vary from person to person. However, there have been reports of individuals experiencing feelings of unease, anxiety, or even panic when exposed to certain low-frequency sounds.

The exact reason why low-frequency sounds can trigger these emotional responses is not fully understood. However, some theories suggest that the vibrations produced by these sounds may stimulate the body's fight-or-flight response, leading to feelings of fear or panic. Additionally, the low-frequency vibrations may also resonate with certain structures in the body, such as the chest cavity or the skull, which can create a sense of discomfort or unease.

It is worth noting that the sense of panic or unease associated with low-frequency sounds is not a universal response and may vary from person to person. Some individuals may be more sensitive to these sounds or may have specific experiences or associations that contribute to their emotional response.

In conclusion, humans cannot hear sounds at very low frequencies (0-15 Hz) due to the limitations of the human auditory system. The vibrations produced by these low-frequency sounds are too slow to effectively stimulate the hair cells in the cochlea, resulting in no perception of sound. The sense of panic or unease that some individuals may experience when exposed to low-frequency sounds is not fully understood but may be related to the stimulation of the body's fight-or-flight response or the resonance of certain structures in the body.
