Calculation of the Total Cement Capacity of Both Warehouses

To determine the total amount of cement that both warehouses can hold, we need to analyze the given information.

According to the problem statement, there are two identical warehouses storing cement. The first warehouse has 18 tons more cement than the second warehouse. To fill both warehouses, 34 tons of cement were brought into the first warehouse, and the same amount was brought into the second warehouse, which already had the same amount of cement as it had before.

Let's break down the information step by step:

1. The first warehouse has 18 tons more cement than the second warehouse. 2. To fill both warehouses, 34 tons of cement were brought into the first warehouse. 3. The second warehouse already had the same amount of cement as it had before.

To find the total capacity of both warehouses, we need to determine the amount of cement in each warehouse.

Let's assume the amount of cement in the second warehouse is x tons. According to the given information, the first warehouse has 18 tons more than the second warehouse, so the amount of cement in the first warehouse is (x + 18) tons.

To fill both warehouses, 34 tons of cement were brought into the first warehouse, making the total amount of cement in the first warehouse (x + 18 + 34) tons.

The second warehouse already had the same amount of cement as it had before, which is x tons.

To find the total capacity of both warehouses, we add the amount of cement in the first warehouse to the amount of cement in the second warehouse:

Total capacity = (x + 18 + 34) + x

Simplifying the equation:

Total capacity = 2x + 52

Therefore, the total amount of cement that both warehouses can hold is 2x + 52 tons.

Please note that we don't have the exact value of x in the problem statement, so we cannot determine the precise total capacity of both warehouses.
