To solve this problem, let's break it down step by step.

Let's assume that the total number of flower seedlings brought is represented by the variable "x".

Step 1: Planting on the first flower bed

According to the problem, 1/3 of all the seedlings were planted on the first flower bed. This means that 1/3 * x seedlings were planted on the first flower bed.

Step 2: Planting on the second flower bed

After planting on the first flower bed, there are still seedlings left. The remaining seedlings can be calculated by subtracting the seedlings planted on the first flower bed from the total number of seedlings: Remaining seedlings = Total seedlings - Seedlings planted on the first flower bed Remaining seedlings = x - (1/3 * x)

According to the problem, 1/3 of the remaining seedlings were planted on the second flower bed. This means that 1/3 * (x - (1/3 * x)) seedlings were planted on the second flower bed.

Step 3: Planting on the third flower bed

After planting on the second flower bed, there are still seedlings left. The remaining seedlings can be calculated by subtracting the seedlings planted on the second flower bed from the remaining seedlings: Remaining seedlings = Remaining seedlings - Seedlings planted on the second flower bed Remaining seedlings = (x - (1/3 * x)) - (1/3 * (x - (1/3 * x)))

According to the problem, 1/3 of the remaining seedlings were planted on the third flower bed. This means that 1/3 * [(x - (1/3 * x)) - (1/3 * (x - (1/3 * x)))] seedlings were planted on the third flower bed.

Step 4: Calculate the remaining seedlings

After planting on the third flower bed, there are 24 seedlings left. We can set up an equation to solve for the value of "x": Remaining seedlings = 24

Substituting the expressions for the remaining seedlings from Step 3 into the equation: (x - (1/3 * x)) - (1/3 * (x - (1/3 * x))) = 24

Simplifying the equation: x - (1/3 * x) - (1/3 * x) + (1/9 * x) = 24 x - (2/3 * x) + (1/9 * x) = 24 (9/9 * x) - (6/9 * x) + (1/9 * x) = 24 (4/9 * x) = 24

Solving for "x": x = (24 * 9) / 4 x = 54

Step 5: Calculate the number of seedlings planted on each flower bed

Now that we know the total number of seedlings brought is 54, we can calculate the number of seedlings planted on each flower bed.

- Number of seedlings planted on the first flower bed: 1/3 * x = 1/3 * 54 = 18 seedlings. - Number of seedlings planted on the second flower bed: 1/3 * (x - (1/3 * x)) = 1/3 * (54 - (1/3 * 54)) = 1/3 * (54 - 18) = 1/3 * 36 = 12 seedlings. - Number of seedlings planted on the third flower bed: 1/3 * [(x - (1/3 * x)) - (1/3 * (x - (1/3 * x)))] = 1/3 * [(54 - (1/3 * 54)) - (1/3 * (54 - (1/3 * 54)))] = 1/3 * [(54 - 18) - (1/3 * (54 - 18))] = 1/3 * (36 - (1/3 * 36)) = 1/3 * (36 - 12) = 1/3 * 24 = 8 seedlings.

Therefore, the answers to the questions are: - The total number of flower seedlings brought is 54. - The number of seedlings planted on the first flower bed is 18. - The number of seedlings planted on the second flower bed is 12. - The number of seedlings planted on the third flower bed is 8.
