4. Fluid Friction: Fluid friction, also known as drag, is the resistance encountered by an object moving through a fluid, such as air or water. When you ride a bicycle, the air resistance you experience is an example of fluid friction. It opposes the motion of the bicycle and makes it harder to pedal.
5. Internal Friction: Internal friction refers to the resistance to motion within a material itself. It is caused by the interactions between the particles or molecules that make up the material. An example of internal friction is the resistance encountered when stretching a rubber band. The rubber band experiences internal friction, which opposes its deformation.
These are just a few examples of the different types of friction that exist. Friction plays a crucial role in our daily lives and has both positive and negative effects. It allows us to walk, drive vehicles, and hold objects, but it also causes wear and tear and reduces efficiency in many mechanical systems.
