My Favourite Russian Film
Usually we watch films either in the cinema or on the TV. But from time to time I go to the cinema. My favourite film is "War and Peace". The script of the film was written by Sergey Bondarchuk and W. Solowjew. The Leningrad (now Sankt Petersburg) ballet-dancer Ludmila Saweljiewa played the main part. She played this role wonderfully.
The other parts were played by A. Ktorov (old Bolkonsky), 0. Tabakov (Nikolai), I. Skobzeva (Helena). Borodino struggle, hunting, the first ball of Natasha made a great impression on me.
One more of my favourite films is "The Fate of a Man". This film is excellent. It is difficult to find other words to describe it. It has enormous vigour and delicacy, it is full of purity and hope.
"...A man is caught in the storm of war and loses everything. Black clouds surround him, and - yet he finds strength to bear up with it all; he finds strength to adopt a child, a destitute, helpless creature..."
All the great events and the feelings aroused are depicted with taste, tact and restraint. I want to draw your attention to the extraordinary performance of the boy.
Even if the film had no other merits, the scenes with the child so subtle, profound and lifelike, so full of tragic vigour — these scenes alone would win Bondarchuk the reputation of a great director.

Обычно мы смотрим фильмы либо в кинотеатре либо по телевизору. Но время от времени я все же хожу в кинотеатр. Мой любимый фильм — "Война и мир". Сценарий к этому фильму был написан С. Бондарчуком и В. Соловьевым. Балерина из Ленинграда (ныне Санкт-Петербург) Людмила Савельева сыграла главную роль. Она сыграла ее замечательно.
Остальные роли сыграли А. Кторов (старый Болконский), О. Табаков (Николай), И. Скобцева (Элен). Битва под Бородино, охота, первый бал Наташи произвели на меня большое впечатление.
Мой любимый фильм также "Судьба человека". Это фильм замечательный. Трудно подобрать другие слова, чтобы его описать. В нем сочетаются огромная энергия и нежность, он полон чистоты и надежды.
"...Человек попадает в пучину войны и теряет все. Черные тучи окружают его, и все же он находит силы выстоять; он находит силы приютить обездоленного ребенка, беззащитное существо..."
Все большие события и великие чувства, которые появляются, изображены со вкусом, тактом и сдержанностью. Хотелось бы обратить внимание особенно на необычайную игру мальчика.
Даже если бы фильм не имел других достоинств, сцены с ребенком, такие искусные, глубокие и жизнелюбивые, полны трагической силы, — только одни эти сцены могли бы создать Бондарчуку репутацию великого режиссера.

 Я хотела бы рассказать Вам немного о своём любимом фильме. Я очень люблю смотреть фильмы, особенно в кинотеатре. Могу сказать, что я частый посетитель кино. Каждый раз, как выходит новый фильм, мы с друзьями идём его смотреть. Ближайший кинотеатр находится в торговом центре. Это совсем новое здание с комфортными залами. Мы посмотрели много фильмов, которые мне понравились, но мой любимый, это российский фильм под названием «Ёлки». Это яркая новогодняя комедия, состоящая из двух частей: «Ёлки-1» и «Ёлки-2». Первый фильм появился год назад, а второй появился на экранах в этом году. Мне понравились оба фильма, потому что они были отличные. Название «Ёлки» переводится на английский как fir-trees. Традиционно, все российские семьи украшают ёлки в канун Нового Года. Самая большая ёлка возводится в Москве на Красной площади. Фильм показывает, как семьи в различных городах страны готовятся к празднованию Нового Года. Некоторые люди даже попадают в проблемные, но смешные ситуации. Многие герои фильма находят любовь и дружбу. Мне очень понравился этот фильм, потому что в нём было много добрых и позитивных моментов. Там также были некоторые мои любимые актёры, среди них Иван Ургант, Сергей Светлаков, Гоша Куценко и другие. Если Вы ещё не видели этот фильм, рекомендую его.

 I would like to tell you a few words about my favourite movie. I like watching movies very much, especially at the cinema. I can say that I’m a cinemagoer. Every time new film comes out me and my friends go to watch it. The nearest cinema is at the mall. It’s a brand new building with comfortable halls. We’ve watched many films that I enjoyed but my favourite was one Russian film called “Elki”. It’s a bright New Year comedy, which consists of two parts: “Elki-1” and “Elki-2”. The first movie appeared a year ago and the second one appeared on screens this year. I liked both films because they were excellent. The title “Elki” translated into English means fir-trees. Traditionally, all Russian families decorate fir-trees on the New Year’s Eve. The biggest fir-tree is put up in Moscow on Red Square. The film shows how families in different cities of the country get ready for the New Year celebration. Some people even get into troublesome but funny situations. There are lots of characters in the movie who find love and friendship. I liked this film very much because there were many  kind and positive moments. There were also some of my favourite actors, such as Ivan Urgant, Sergey Svetlakov, Gosha Kutsenko and others. If you haven’t seen this film yet, I recommend it.
