Господин Николай Рубцов, а вернее товарищ Рубцов родился в 1936 году. этот год был очень тяжёлым для нашей страны: голод, коллективазация, начало репрессий, соответственно у поэта было тяжёлое детство. В своим стихотворении он рассказывает читателю всю прелесть первого снега. в стихе проскакивают образы деревни, реки, деревьев. Эти образы довольно типичны для русской поэзии середины 20-го века. но среди всего многообразия образов автор упоминает кнут, который намекает на тяжёлое детство и домашние бастонады. в те времена в каждом доме имелись так называемые флоггеры, которыми пороли непослушных детей. Во время очередной бастонады отец семейства звал всех детей на сеновал и порол их.

Для Николая Рубцова поэзия не была пустым звуком, ведь его отец состоял в так называемом адельфопоэзисе с местным дьячком, что способствовало церковной и творческой карьере юного Николая. опыт бастонад и адельфопоэзиса привитый человеком 19го века ( отцом) отлично отобразился в стихах Николая.
