Ну, пока что самым значительным событием из гражданских прав, на мой взгляд, стала отмена крепостного права в 1861 году.....Все остальное - только декларации в Конституции.

The Most Important Political Rights

Political rights are fundamental to a democratic society, as they ensure that individuals have a voice in the decision-making process and can participate in shaping their government. While there are several important political rights, I believe the following are particularly significant:

1. Freedom of Speech and Expression: The right to express one's opinions, ideas, and beliefs without fear of censorship or retaliation is crucial for a functioning democracy. It allows individuals to engage in public debate, criticize the government, and advocate for change.

2. Right to Vote: The right to vote is a fundamental political right that allows citizens to choose their representatives and have a say in the governance of their country. It ensures that the government is accountable to the people and reflects their will.

3. Right to Assembly and Peaceful Protest: The right to assemble and peacefully protest is essential for citizens to express their grievances, advocate for their rights, and bring attention to social and political issues. It enables people to come together, raise awareness, and demand change.

4. Right to Political Participation: Political participation encompasses various activities, such as joining political parties, running for office, and engaging in public affairs. It ensures that citizens can actively contribute to the political process and influence decision-making.

5. Right to Freedom of the Press: Freedom of the press is crucial for a well-informed citizenry and a functioning democracy. It allows journalists to report on government activities, hold those in power accountable, and provide the public with reliable information.

6. Right to Equality and Non-Discrimination: The right to equality and non-discrimination ensures that all individuals, regardless of their race, gender, religion, or other characteristics, are treated fairly and have equal access to political rights and opportunities.

These political rights are interconnected and mutually reinforcing. They provide the foundation for a democratic society where individuals can freely express their opinions, participate in the political process, and hold their government accountable.
