Logical Sequence of the Text Fragments

1. Fragment d) - Nathalie had four years when her mother left her father to marry a handsome German. Nathalie loved her father but he was weak and resigned; he did not insist on keeping her in Moscow. Soon, against her will, she admired her stepfather. He showed affection for her. She refused to call him Father; they eventually agreed that she would call him Heinrich, as her mother did.

2. Fragment e) - Her father was a very good man, but extremely clumsy. Everything he had organized with so much love failed. The new toys only intensified Nathalie's regrets, and she demanded her old toys back, which he could not find.

3. Fragment a) - Nathalie was not disappointed. Her father had made immense efforts to make this day perfect. He had bought new toys, ordered a wonderful lunch, and prepared a small fireworks display in the garden.

4. Fragment b) - One of the fireworks fell on the roof, in Nathalie's old room's chimney, and set a rug on fire.
