Enrico Caruso was a famous Italian singer known worldwide for his exceptional talent. He performed in numerous countries across Europe, including Russia, France, Germany, Spain, and many others. Caruso's concerts were always well-attended, with concert halls filled to capacity. Despite his fame, Caruso remained humble and often said, "No man is so well known as he thinks he is."

One day, while Caruso was driving to New York in the United States to give some concerts, his car broke down near a farm. Since Caruso didn't know how to repair the car, he approached the farmer for assistance. The farmer kindly agreed to help. While the farmer was repairing the car, Caruso took the opportunity to rest in the farmer's house.

After completing the repairs, the farmer entered the house and informed Caruso that his car was ready to go. Caruso paid the farmer for his work and presented him with a photograph of himself, autographed with his name. When the farmer read the name on the photograph, he exclaimed with excitement, mistaking Caruso for Robinson Crusoe, "Oh, what a luck! You are Robinson Crusoe! I've never dreamed of receiving the greatest traveler in the world in my poor house!" [[1]](https://ciu.nstu.ru/kaf/persons/71083/a/file_get/258315?nomenu=1).

It's worth noting that the story of Caruso's encounter with the farmer may be fictional or anecdotal, as no specific historical sources were found to confirm its accuracy.
