The light was left on for the whole night by somebody. 5. We were given a form to fill in by the boss. 6. Only a few automobiles were produced by Russia before World War 1.

Please note that the passive voice changes the focus of the sentence from the doer of the action to the receiver of the action. The subject of the active sentence becomes the object of the passive sentence, and the verb is changed to its passive form.
