потому что сам глагол decided стоит в прошедшем. На русский мы преводим так, Я решил пойти в театр. Решил - прошедшее время. Пойти - инфинитив. Ты ведь не скажешь я решил пошел в театр. А также пред глаголом go стоит частичка to, которая показывает этот инфинитив! Незачто и всегда пожалуйста))))
