it's a holiday that annually celebrated in the end of winter. actually, it's a pagan holiday, that was created more than 500 years ago. in Russia we celebrate it the whole week before Lent. it's a tradition to make pancakes or "blini" and eat it with jam, honey and milk. in the center of Sunday's festival - effigy of Winter, that always burn. that means winter is over and it's time for spring to come.
