What role does poetry play in your life?
For me, poetry is very important, since I am interested in literature and I like to read. Since childhood, my parents bought me books and I became interested in the contents of books. At school I began to read well and took books from the library.
At first the books were simple and childish, for example, Nazazka on the Moon, or fairy tales, but when I grew up, my attention was defined on poetry and on the verses of our Russian poets.
In Russian poetry, especially in the nineteenth century, there is a remarkable side — the rich in composition is the transmission of the word and lyricism. Since the great Pushkin in Russia there were still wonderful poets like Fet, Maikov, Tyutchev, Nekrasov, Nikitin. Poetry for me is a revelation with the soul of a Russian person when I read the verses of these writers. They are for me an indisputable part of our culture and for my generation an example of love for the Motherland and for art. Many songs have been composed into poems of poets, and some poems have even become traditional for studying in school in the Russian language lesson. Poetry for me is my inner world, which supports me in difficult moments, develops in me a love for the Motherland, for its nature and customs, and is a development of my character and personality.

Title: What Poetry Means to Me
Poetry is a timeless art form that has captivated hearts and minds for centuries. For me, poetry is not just a collection of words on a page but a profound expression of the human experience. It is a powerful means of communication that transcends the boundaries of language and culture, connecting us at the deepest level of our emotions, thoughts, and imaginations. In this essay, I will delve into the various facets of poetry and its significance in my life.
First and foremost, poetry is a form of self-expression. It allows me to convey my innermost feelings, thoughts, and observations with a depth and intensity that prose often cannot match. Through poetry, I can articulate the complex tapestry of emotions that weave through my mind, whether it be love, joy, sorrow, or even despair. The beauty of poetry lies in its ability to distill these emotions into carefully chosen words and phrases, creating a vivid and evocative tapestry of language that resonates with readers on a personal level.
Beyond personal expression, poetry serves as a means of understanding the world around us. Poets have a unique gift for observing and illuminating the subtleties of life, making the ordinary extraordinary. They can capture the essence of a moment, freezing it in time, and offering us a fresh perspective on our surroundings. In this way, poetry opens my eyes to the beauty of the world and the human condition, fostering a sense of empathy and connection with others.
Moreover, poetry is an art form that encourages creativity and imagination. Unlike prose, poetry often employs metaphors, similes, and symbolism, inviting readers to engage their minds in deciphering the underlying meanings and messages. It allows for multiple interpretations and encourages readers to participate actively in the creative process. This interplay between the poet and the reader creates a dynamic and enriching experience that transcends the boundaries of space and time.
Poetry also serves as a historical and cultural record, preserving the thoughts and experiences of generations past. It offers glimpses into different eras, societies, and individuals, allowing us to learn from history and gain a deeper understanding of our shared humanity. Through poetry, I can connect with the wisdom of the past and draw inspiration from the struggles and triumphs of those who came before me.
In the fast-paced digital age, where brevity often takes precedence, poetry reminds us to slow down, savor words, and appreciate the nuances of language. It encourages us to embrace the beauty of the written word, fostering a love for literature and nurturing our linguistic abilities.
In conclusion, poetry is a multifaceted and invaluable art form that enriches my life in countless ways. It is a vehicle for self-expression, a window into the human experience, a catalyst for imagination, and a record of history and culture. Above all, poetry is a testament to the power of language and its ability to connect us on a profound level. Whether reading the classics or composing my verses, poetry remains an integral part of my life, shaping my thoughts, feelings, and understanding of the world around me.
