2019 г. произошло очевидное политическое поражение не только самого бывшего президента страны Петра Порошенко, но и (в идейном смысле) постмайданной системы власти, ориентированной на бывшего президента. Несмотря на всю предвыборную активность П. Порошенко, в том числе использование серых избирательных технологий в виде «сетки», активное использование образа внешнего врага, применение провокативных мер (отправка катеров в Керченский пролив и введение военного положения), украинское общество не подтвердило вотум доверия президенту, данный ему в 2014 г.
