The most famous animal in Russia is a bear. It has brown fur and a strong body. Its weight is about 400- 600 kilos. Bears live in bushy forests with the windfall, they use them as a lair. In winter they sleep. Bears have a short tail, long and thick hair, as well as an excellent sense of smell. Bears are predators, they eat deer, fish, mice, ants, nuts and berries, different plants, birds' eggs, etc. Though they seem to be rather clumsy, they run fast - about 50 kilometres an hour. Bears are excellent climbers and swimmers. They are beautiful animals and, in my opinion, we have to protect them. In the international red book, bears have endangered status.
