As I waited for Jim, I couldn't help but feel anxious. Who could have entered my room and taken the book? And why did they leave my computer on? My mind raced with possible scenarios, but none of them made sense.

When Jim arrived, he took a quick look around the room and asked me a few questions. He suggested that I call the police and report the incident. He also suggested that I change my computer password, just in case.

As we waited for the police to arrive, Jim and I sat in silence. I couldn't help but feel violated, as if someone had invaded my personal space. I also felt angry that someone had taken something that was important to me.

When the police arrived, they asked me to give them a description of the book and any other details that might help them with their investigation. They also dusted for fingerprints and looked for any other clues that might lead them to the culprit.

Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, but the police never found the person who took my book. I eventually gave up hope of ever seeing it again. However, I did learn a valuable lesson – to always lock my doors and windows, even when I'm at home.
