На территории современной России Рождество стало официальным праздником после крещения Руси князем Владимиром в 988 году. дома и улицы украшаются елками и гирляндами в середине декабря. Особую роль в праздновании Рождества играет оформление стола.

В Британии Рождество отмечают 25 декабря
