Что такое passive voice?

Ответы на вопрос

Passive voice is a grammatical construction used in sentence formation where the subject of the sentence receives the action of the verb rather than performing the action itself. In passive voice, the focus is on the recipient or the object of the action, rather than the doer or the subject. It is called "passive" because the subject is passive or inactive in the sentence.
In passive voice, the typical sentence structure is as follows:
[Object] + [be verb (am, is, are, was, were, has been, have been, etc.)] + [past participle of the main verb] + [by + agent (optional)]
Here are a few examples to illustrate the transformation from active voice to passive voice:
Active Voice: "John wrote the letter." Passive Voice: "The letter was written by John."
Active Voice: "They are building a house." Passive Voice: "A house is being built by them."
Active Voice: "She will finish the project." Passive Voice: "The project will be finished by her."
The use of passive voice can be beneficial in certain situations, such as when the doer of the action is unknown, unimportant, or when the focus is on the object or the result of the action. However, it is generally advised to use active voice as it is usually more direct, clear, and engaging.
