The middle son went to the richest cities, where he traded and bargained, and brought back a chest full of gold and silver. The youngest son went to the nearest forest, where he met a talking horse and a talking cow, who were friends and lived in harmony. He brought back nothing but their stories and songs.

The king was not impressed by the crown or the chest, for he had seen many such things in his life. But he was amazed by the stories and songs of the horse and the cow, for he had never heard anything like them before. He chose the youngest son as his heir, and gave him the horse and the cow as a gift.

The eldest and the middle sons were jealous and angry. They plotted to kill the youngest son and take his place. They waited for a dark night, when the youngest son was asleep, and sneaked into his room with daggers. But the horse and the cow sensed their evil intentions, and used their magic to turn them into stars. They flew up to the sky, where they formed a new constellation, which was named after them.

Since then, the horse and the cow have lost their friendship, and a new constellation appeared in the sky. The youngest son became a good and wise king, and the horse and the cow stayed with him as his loyal companions.
