Экологическая проблема — это изменение природной среды, в результате антропогенного воздействия или стихийных бедствий, ведущее к нарушению структуры и функционирования природы.


Экологическая проблема многолетнее бесконтрольное и не всегда оправданное расходование природных ресурсов (добыча полезных ископаемых , промышленная вырубка лесов и т.п.);индустриализация хозяйства (появление большого количества производств, выбрасывающих в окружающую среду вредные вещества);увеличение численности людей и их потребностей и др.

В промышленно развитых странах экологические проблемы имеют преимущественно «индустриальный характер», а в развивающихся – обусловлены в первую очередь «переиспользованием естественных ресурсов» (лесов, почвенного покрова и других природных богатств).

В настоящее время эпицентр экологических проблем переносится из развитых стран в развивающиеся в связи с тем, что туда переносится ряд вредных производств.

В отдельных районах Земли конфликт между человеком и природой настолько обострился, что достиг уровня экологического кризиса.

Экологические проблемы условно можно разделить на три группы:

Деградация окружающей среды в результате нерационального природопользования (обезлесивание, почвенная эррозия, аридное опустынивание и т.п.).Загрязнение литосферы, гидросферы и атмосферы твердыми, жидкими и газообразными отходами антропогенной деятельности («фотохимический туман» («смог») над крупными промышленными агломерациями, «кислотные дожди», мусорные свалки, нефтяное загрязнение мирового океана, радиоактивное загрязнение мирового океана в результате захоронения радиоактивных отходов и др.).Отравление окружающей среды химическими веществами, создаваемыми в процессе производства (химикаты, пестициды, фреоны – разрушители озонового слоя)

Кроме того, много экологических проблем возникает в результате экологических катастроф на промышленных предприятиях (катастрофа на Чернобыльской АЭС в 1986 г.) и на определенных территориях (лесные пожары).
