То,что любимый младший сын Андрий из-за беспамятной любви к польской панночке стал предателем и воевал против отца, против своей Родины,для Тараса Бульбы как отца было огромной трагедией.А убийство родного сына собственными руками--страшная двойная трагедия. 
Повесть эту можно было назвать трагедией семьи Тараса Бульбы,т.к. она вся погибает.
