Творчість Байрона за характером створених ним творів у різні роки життя можна умовно поділити на 2 періоди:

o Лондонський період (1807-1816 рр.);

Common Themes in the Works of Byron and Goethe

Lord Byron and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe were both influential figures in the world of literature during the Romantic period. While they hailed from different countries and had distinct writing styles, there are some common themes that can be found in their works. Let's explore these shared themes in more detail:

1. Exploration of Human Emotions and Passion: Both Byron and Goethe delved into the depths of human emotions and explored the complexities of passion in their works. They depicted intense love, desire, longing, and the tumultuous nature of human relationships. Their characters often grappled with conflicting emotions and experienced profound emotional turmoil.

2. Individualism and Self-Expression: Both writers championed the idea of individualism and the importance of self-expression. They celebrated the uniqueness of the individual and emphasized the power of personal freedom and self-determination. Their works often featured protagonists who rebelled against societal norms and sought to assert their own identities.

3. Nature and the Sublime: Byron and Goethe were both inspired by the beauty and power of nature. They frequently incorporated vivid descriptions of natural landscapes and used them as a backdrop to explore human emotions and experiences. They also explored the concept of the sublime, depicting nature as awe-inspiring and capable of evoking profound emotions in the human psyche.

4. Social and Political Critique: Both writers were known for their social and political commentary in their works. They criticized societal norms, institutions, and the injustices they observed in their respective societies. Byron and Goethe used their writing as a platform to express their discontent with the status quo and advocate for change.

5. Exploration of the Human Condition: Byron and Goethe delved into the complexities of the human condition, often exploring themes of suffering, mortality, and the existential struggles of life. They examined the darker aspects of human nature and questioned the meaning and purpose of existence.

It is important to note that while these themes are commonly found in the works of Byron and Goethe, each writer had their own unique style and approach to storytelling. Their works reflect their individual perspectives and experiences, making them distinct voices in the literary world.
