Повесть «В тумане», как и большинство произведений Василия Быкова обращены к теме Великой Отечественной войны. Действие происходит на оккупированной территории Беларуси. Эта повесть весьма напряженна, хотя здесь не показаны боевые действия, нет батальных сцен. Тут скорее война обстоятельств, в которые загнаны главные герои. Двоих партизан послали на хутор с заданием уничтожить предателя. Дальше перед читателем предстает «рассказ в рассказе». В отступлениях от повествования Быков красочно раскрывает характеры, душевные переживания партизан и «предателя», выбирая по жизненным ситуациям и размышлениям героев то главное, из чего наиболее полно вырисовываются образы. Также до конца повести сохранена интрига столкновения характеров. С удовольствием рекомендую эту повесть к прочтению.
