22 июня 1941 г. с нападения фашистской Германии на Советский Союз началась Великая Отечественная война. Свой боевой и трудовой вклад в разгром врага внесли миллионы наших соотечественников.Казахстанцы проявили свой героизм и мужество уже в первые часы войны, когда мощь фашистского удара приняла на себя Брестская крепость. В её обороне участвовали наши прославленные воины-­земляки: К. Семенченко, ставший первым казахстанцем – Героем Советского Союза, Р. Хабибулин, А. Байжигитов, Г. Жуматов, В. Фурсов.
