Портсмутский мирный договор 1905 года был настолько унизительным для России из-за того что она теряла большую сферу влияния на востоке и уступала территории, к тому же проиграла войну.
1) Россия признавала Корею сферой японского влияния. (То есть Россия тогда потеряла там сферу влияния, да и сегодня не имеет ее там.)
2) Уступала Японии арендные права на Ляодунский полуостров с Порт-Артуром и Дальним, часть ЮМЖД от Порт-Артура до Куаньчэнцзы.(До сих пор там нет наших портов)
3) Соглашалась в статье 12 на заключение конвенции по рыбной ловле вдоль русских берегов Японского, Охотского и Берингова морей.
4) Согласно статье 9 этого договора Россия уступала Японии юг Сахалина. Договор закреплял только коммерческое использование маньчжурских дорог обеими сторонами. (После же ВОВ СССР вернул юг Сахалина, но претензии все же остались и сейчас снова набирают обороты про Сахалин и Курильские острова).
После разгрома и капитуляции Японии во Второй Мировой войне, Портсмутский мирный договор утратил силу. Поэтому сейчас остается проблема Сахалина и Курил.
