По сути, после первой своей публичной проповеди Мухаммед бежал из Мекки в Медину, опасаясь преследований знати. Он нашел поддержку среди двух племен (Аус и Хазрадж) , которые и заложили основу Халифата. Они примкнули к нему потому что он объявил равенство всех людей (в Исламе)  вне зависимости от их племенной, расовой, национальной принадлежности, или принадлежности к элитам по родству или богатству. Объединенные племена начали победоносный поход против разобщенных богатых иудеев и христиан и (по Гумилеву) и одержади победу, в дальнейшем создав Арабский Халифат. То есть - в некотором роде Мухаммед выступил как социалист и революцион
