Переехавшие греки селились вблизи моря. В гавани всегда находились торговые корабли, ведь купцы надеялись наладить бурную торговлю , а ремесленники думали , что в этой стране будут покупать их продукцию. На плодородных землях, окружавших гавань греки засевали хлеб, сажали виноградники. Они обязательно возводили храм в честь богов и дома, где и жили. Главным для колонистов было установить дружеские отношения с местным населением. На рисунке мы и видим всадников, которые смотрят на город и наверное, собираются туда поехать. Это скорее всего племена скифов. Корабли с товарами спешат в порт, чтобы разгрузить товары, которые привезли из Греции. Купцы привезли много вина, ваз, статуи, оружия, масла, тканей, а обратно они повезут пшеницу, много рабов, много шкур животных, ёмкости с мёдом. Новыми городами управляло, как и везде, народное собрание. Хлеба и земли в Греции не хватало, поэтому уезжали в большинстве бедные граждане, но иногда переселялись и богатые, если в их полисе победу одерживал народ. В колониях образовывались новые государства, с воинами, правительством и законами.
