Особенность хозяйства Австралии в том, что она полностью обеспечивает себя продуктами питания, и в то же время остаётся крупнейшим экспортёром продовольствия, потому что всегда была зависима от внешних рынков, где сбывала свою продукцию. Экспорт производится в Новую Зеландию, Китай, Японию, Сингапур, Южную Корею, Индонезию и Тайвань.
