Nowadays there are very few official organizations where young people can display their abilities and skills.  So young people tend to gather in samll or big groups of their own where they can feel united on the basis of some common idea or interest. That is whey we have Emo-groups wearing pink, or Goths sharing  the same interest in  black clothes and dark forces.  They wear the same clothes and listen to the same music and it is their variant of unity which gives them a sense of belonging.  I don't mind such organizations or groups unless they are dangerous or violent  .   As to me I prefer more positive groups such as sport societies, dancing groups or some learning clubs.  There you can have positive emotions, obtain useful skills and have a feeling of belonging to something important and beneficial, both for you and society.
