6 may 2015 in Belogorsk in the Amur region there was a monument dedicated to the last year's events in Crimea. Gentle sculpture of a Russian soldier with a kitten on his hand set on the main square of the city.


"Our Russian soldiers not only strong, but also polite. We are proud of our soldiers who defended us 70 years ago and now keep our way of life and peace," – said during the ceremony, acting Governor of the Amur region Alexander Kozlov.


Cast iron sculpture with a height of 1.8 meters and weighing about 400 kilograms was manufactured at the plant of the architectural and artistic casting in the city of Kasli (Chelyabinsk region). At its creation took 1.3 million of the private donations.


"Polite people" (in Ukraine they are called "green men") is called the GRU unit, Marines and paratroopers who carried out the operation on the accession of Crimea to Russia. Republic of Crimea and the Crimean Peninsula Sevastopol became the Russian regions according to the results of the referendum on 16 March 2014, more than 90% of participants voted to secede from Ukraine.
