Once upon a time, there was a baby bird with only one wing. This baby bird was unable to fly, which made it feel very sad. One day, the other birds noticed that it was getting cold and decided to fly away to warmer places. The bird with one wing was left all alone and felt even sadder. It thought to itself, "I can't fly, and I can't live here alone. What should I do?"
Just then, the little bird spotted some squirrels nearby and approached them for help. It asked, "Please, can I live with you?" The squirrels, however, had a condition. They asked if the bird could crack nuts for them. Unfortunately, the bird couldn't crack nuts, so the squirrels replied, "Then you cannot live with us." This made the poor little bird even sadder, and it continued to walk on, feeling increasingly lonely.
After some time, the bird came across a fox and made the same request, "Please, can I live with you?" The fox, however, had its own condition. It asked if the bird could catch chickens. Since the bird couldn't catch chickens, it had to keep on walking, feeling dejected and alone.
But then, a glimmer of hope appeared in the form of a treehouse. The little bird knocked on the door, and Mrs. Rabbit opened it. The bird, with its one wing, explained its situation, saying, "Please, I'm all alone. Please, can I live with you?"
Mrs. Rabbit, kind-hearted and compassionate, welcomed the bird in. The bird offered to clean their house as a way of showing gratitude. Delighted with the offer, Mrs. Rabbit gladly accepted, saying, "Come in, then. That is just what we want!" The bird with one wing cleaned Mr. and Mrs. Rabbit's house and was filled with joy and warmth in the cozy treehouse.
From that day forward, every winter when the other birds flew away to warmer places, the little bird stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Rabbit in the treehouse. It found a loving home and a sense of belonging, no longer feeling alone or sad.
