1) It's one o'clock and he has three days' work to do. He WILL have finished this time tomorrow.

To rephrase the sentence while maintaining the same meaning and incorporating the word "WILL" in uppercase, we can use the future perfect tense. The future perfect tense indicates an action that will be completed before a specific time in the future. In this case, the action of finishing the work will be completed by the time mentioned, which is "this time tomorrow."

2) We arrived at 7 o'clock. Mum had already made lunch. Mum had already made lunch BY the time we arrived at 7 o'clock.

To rephrase the sentence while keeping the same meaning and incorporating the word "BY" in uppercase, we can use the phrase "by the time." This phrase indicates that an action is completed before a specific point in time. In this case, the action of making lunch was completed before the specific point in time mentioned, which is "we arrived at 7 o'clock."

3) Carl never goes to work by bus now because he has a new motorcycle. Carl USED to go to work by bus, but now he has a new motorcycle.

To rephrase the sentence while maintaining the same meaning and incorporating the word "USED" in uppercase, we can use the phrase "used to." The phrase "used to" is used to talk about past habits or actions that are no longer true in the present. In this case, Carl had the habit of going to work by bus in the past, but now he has a new motorcycle and no longer goes to work by bus.
