It extends to the Pacific Ocean in the east, the Arctic Ocean in the north and the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea in the south. We know that the territory behind the Ural Mountains is Siberia and the territory near the Pacific Ocean is the Far East. It takes more than ten hours to get from the east to the west of the country by plane. 2. The country is very large indeed. The climate is different in different places: the north is famous for its ice, snow and low temperatures but in the south the weather is warm in winter and hot in summer. 3. Russia is rich in seas, lakes, rivers and forests. Lake Baikal in Siberia is famous because it is the deepest lake in the world and it has very clear fresh water. Some of our rivers are very long and powerful. 4. There are a lot of important cities on the territory of Russia. Tourists from abroad come to visit Moscow, the capital of the country. Visitors come to do St Petersburg, famous for its beauty. In Russia there are thousands of cities and towns, large and small, old and new and every city or town is interesting in its way.

Она простирается до Тихого океана на востоке, Северно- Ледовитого океана на севере и Кавказских гор и Черного моря на юге. Мы знаем, что территория за Уральскими горами - это Сибирь, и территория около Тихого океана - Дальний Восток. Требуется больше  десяти часов, чтобы добраться с востока на запад страны самолетом.
