In "A Scandal in Bohemia" King Wilhelm of Bohemia brought Sherlock Holmes a new case.He hired Sherlock to find some compromising photos. King Wilhelm's former lover, a young soprano, Irene Adler,threatened to publish them in order to prevent his wedding. She refused to sell  the photograph to the King. Holmes determined the location of photos, but when he went to take them, he learned that Adler had already moved the photos.Some time later Holmes found himself dragged into the church to be a witness to Adler's wedding to Godfrey Norton.Wilhelm needed not worry any more; Adler had no more desire to prevent his wedding.The King was satisfied with that outcome and offered a valuable ring and a gold snuff box to Holmes.
