The fox saw a chance and ran into a thicket of thorns. The eagle followed him blindly and got his wings and feet tangled in the thorns. He could not fly or move, and he cried out in pain and fear.

The fox came out of the thicket and looked at the eagle with pity. He said, "You are a noble and majestic bird, but you are also arrogant and foolish. The eagle realized his mistake and felt ashamed. He begged the fox to free him from the thorns. The fox agreed, but only on one condition.
