Summer is my favorite season. Summer holidays give the longest rest from studying of the year that’s why I like them so much.In June I stayed at home and my parents were at work. But I was glad because at last I had time for myself. I read books, listened to music, watched films and visited my friend. I spend most days outdoors and got a nice sun tan.Then I spent two weeks in the summer camp on the seaside. It was a real fun. I met a lot of new friends. Every day we enjoyed something special - games, carnivals, competitions, performances. We went to the seaside twice a day. There we swam, bathed in the sun, played volleyball on the beach, made sculptures of sand. We had discos every night, but not too long. I guess, those were the most exciting weeks of the summer. It gave me bright impressions, lots of funny photos and some new friends.Then my parents were on vacation and so they took me to my parent’s place in the village. It’s a very picturesque place with a forest and a river nearby. I was happy to see my grandmother and grandfather. I spent hot days on the riverbank. Once we went hiking with my parents, made fire, gathered some berries. The summer forest is very beautiful. In the evening I usually helped in the garden.Last month of the summer I was at home again, having rest from such an intensive rest! I did usual things and prepared for school. As soon as I stepped foot on the island, I was captivated by its charm and beauty. It was a moment of pure tranquility and serenity.

Another memorable experience was exploring the ancient ruins of Akrotiri. This archaeological site dates back to the Minoan civilization and is often referred to as the "Pompeii of the Aegean." Walking through the preserved ruins, I could almost imagine how life was like thousands of years ago. The intricate frescoes and well-preserved structures were a testament to the advanced civilization that once thrived in this area.

Of course, I couldn't visit Santorini without indulging in its delicious cuisine. The local dishes were a delightful combination of fresh seafood, flavorful herbs, and traditional Greek ingredients. I savored every bite of the famous Greek salad, moussaka, and souvlaki. Each meal was accompanied by a glass of refreshing local wine, adding to the overall culinary experience.

In addition to the breathtaking landscapes and mouthwatering food, the warm hospitality of the locals made my trip even more enjoyable. Whether it was the hotel staff, restaurant owners, or fellow travelers, everyone was friendly and welcoming. They were always ready to share stories, recommend hidden gems, and make sure I had a fantastic time on the island.

As my summer vacation came to an end, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the incredible experiences I had in Santorini. It was a place that exceeded all my expectations and left me longing to return one day. The beauty of the island, the rich history, and the warmth of its people made it an unforgettable destination.
