On the day of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in June 2012, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, gave a speech in honor of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. He began by addressing her as "Your Majesty" and affectionately referred to her as "Mummy." Prince Charles expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Queen for all the wonderful people who had made the day possible.

In a lighthearted tone, Prince Charles thanked God for the fine weather, jokingly remarking that it was fortunate the weather turned out well. However, he also mentioned the sadness of his father's absence due to illness. Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was unable to attend the celebration.

Prince Charles then addressed the audience, suggesting that if they shouted loud enough, his father might just hear them in the hospital and get better. This light-hearted remark showed his concern for his father's well-being while also adding a touch of humor to the speech.

Acknowledging the significance of the Diamond Jubilee, Prince Charles described it as a unique and special event. He emphasized that the celebration was a tribute to the Queen's life and service over the past 60 years. Reflecting on his own personal experience, Prince Charles shared that he was only three years old when his grandfather, King George VI, passed away. This sudden loss had a profound impact on both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles' lives, as she became the Queen at the young age of 26.

However, Prince Charles also acknowledged the hardships and difficulties faced by many of their fellow countrymen. He expressed pride in being part of something as unique as the Commonwealth, which, under the Queen's leadership, had created a sense of unity among its member nations.
