At the age of six, she attended a tennis clinic in Moscow. Maria has lived in the United States since moving there at the age of seven. Now Maria live in Florida. She was named in Forbes Celebrity 100. Maria four times was winner of championships of Grand Slam(2004, 2006, 2008, 2012). She was engaged to Slovenian professional basketball player Sasha Vujačić. The two had been dating since 2009. On August 31 2012 Maria confirmed that the engagement was off and that they had broken up in spring of 2012.
