E. Read the text and answer the questions. Antoni Gaudi's Work of Art Anyone who has ever visited
Barcelona has seen the works of the city's most famous architect, Antoni Gaud, Gaudi was born in Reus, Spain, in 1852, and studied architecture in Barcelona between 1873 and 1878. He spent most of his life there and designed many wonderful buildings like the Casa Battlo, the Casa Mita and Park Güell The Sagrada Familia however, is his most famous work and has become a symbol of Barcelona. Gaudi started this project in 1883 and spent the rest of his life working on it. He wanted to build a very impressive cathedral with 18 towers up to 170 metres high. When he died in 1926, only a small part was ready. Work continued, but in 1936 a bomb ruined Gaudl's study with all his notes and designs. In 1952, a team of architects decided to make Gaudi's dream come true. They started work on the Sagrada Familia again. They have already built the facade and most of the towers. Four of the towers are open to visitors and provide amazing views of the city. However, work on the cathedral hasn't finished yet and probably won't for quite some time. 1. Who was Antoni Gaudi!? 2. When did Gaudl begin building the Sagrada Famila? 3. How many towers did Gaud want the cathedral to have? 4. What happened to Gaudf's designs of the Sagrada Famille? 5. When did architects continue buliding the Sagrada Familia? 6. Which parts of the church can people visit now?
