On Christmas Eve, he is visited by the ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley, and three spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, who show him the consequences of his actions and the misery he has caused. He is terrified and remorseful, and decides to change his ways and become a generous and compassionate person.
