              1)  In 1879 American inventor Thomas Edison tested an electric incandescent lamp. Scientists from different countries have been working on it for years. For example, in 1874, Russian engineer Alexander Lodygin patented the most viable version at that time with a coal rod that did not melt. A little later, he suggested replacing the carbon rod with tungsten, which is used to this day. However, it was Edison who introduced light bulbs into mass use.

       2) In December 1903, the brothers Wilbur and Orville Wright from the United States conducted the first test flight of their Flyer-1 aircraft. The aircraft stayed in the air for 12 seconds, having overcome 36 m. "Flyer-1" was a biplane with two rudders, in which the pilot was placed on the lower wing. Its propellers were made of wood, and the role of the chassis was performed by a catapult. Since then, people have started their air flights, improving the aircraft more and more.
