I like reading books and I read a lot. Not so long ago I read a book that now is my favourite one. It is "Two Captains" by Veniamin Kaverin. He wrote this novel in 1938–1944.
The main character of the book is Sanya (Alexander) Grigoryev. The writer tells us how Sanya grew up, fell in love, discovered the meaning of true friendship and became a brave Arctic pilot. We learn about the boy's urge to find the long lost Captain Tatarinov. A great thing about the book is the motto "To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield" which is a line from Alfred Tennyson's poem "Ulysses".
I like this book because there is everything in it: adventures, a love story, fantasy and history. It is really unputdownable.

I want to tell you about my favorite book, Emmy and the Unicorn Pig. This book is about a girl, Emmy. Emmy has a birthday soon. But it is not simple. She should have been given her magical pet. Emmy really wanted a Unicorn. Her room was full of unicorns. But on her birthday, she saw a Pig with a horn like a unicorn. Of course, she was upset, but the pig did not let her be sad. Then they had many funny stories.

"My Favorite Book"
One of the most cherished possessions I have is my favorite book, "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. This classic novel has captured my heart and mind with its timeless themes and unforgettable characters.
Set in the racially charged American South during the 1930s, "To Kill a Mockingbird" explores the issues of racism, injustice, and moral growth through the eyes of a young girl named Scout Finch. The book beautifully illustrates the power of empathy and the importance of standing up for what is right, even in the face of adversity.
One of the reasons I adore this book is its remarkable characters. Atticus Finch, Scout's father, is a symbol of integrity and compassion. His unwavering commitment to justice has left a lasting impression on me. Likewise, Scout's innocence and curiosity remind me of the importance of seeing the world with fresh eyes, even when it seems bleak.
The novel also delves into the concept of empathy, as Scout learns to see the world from other people's perspectives. This theme has taught me to be more understanding and compassionate in my own life.
What I find most captivating about "To Kill a Mockingbird" is its ability to remain relevant even today. Its exploration of social issues and the human condition transcends time, making it a book that can be enjoyed and appreciated by readers of all ages.
In conclusion, "To Kill a Mockingbird" is not just a book to me; it's a source of inspiration and wisdom. Its powerful message about justice, empathy, and the importance of moral courage continues to resonate with me, making it my all-time favorite book. I believe that everyone should read this novel at least once in their life to experience the profound impact it can have on one's perspective and values.
