My name is Alexander. I’m twelve years old. I’m fond of reading. Most of all I like adventure novels. My favourite book is “The Mysterious Island” by Jules Verne. You can find much necessary, useful and valuable information in the book. This novel proved us that human can survive in any conditions. Each character is interesting. Cyrus Smith was well-informed. His mind, purposefulness and patience helped colonists to survive. Thank to their persistence they achieved prosperity on a desert island. They could grow rich harvest of wheat from the only seed, build a mill, increase poultry, handle a monkey and build a boat. After the example of Ayrton we see that any criminal can reform. In the novel Jules Verne wanted to prove that people are strong if they are united.

My favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. This timeless classic is set in the American South during the 1930s. It follows the story of Scout Finch, a young girl growing up in the racially segregated town of Maycomb, Alabama. The book is narrated by Scout and explores themes of racism, injustice, and moral growth.

One of the reasons I love this book is because of its compelling characters. Atticus Finch, Scout's father, is a lawyer who stands up for what is right, even when it's unpopular. His unwavering moral compass is both inspiring and thought-provoking. Boo Radley, the mysterious neighbor, adds an element of intrigue and depth to the story.

The novel also highlights the importance of empathy and understanding. Through Scout's eyes, we witness the harsh realities of prejudice and discrimination, but we also see the power of compassion and empathy to challenge these injustices.

The writing in "To Kill a Mockingbird" is beautifully descriptive and evocative. Harper Lee's prose captures the essence of the Deep South and immerses the reader in the time and place of the story.

Ultimately, "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a book that continues to resonate with readers because of its profound message about the need for social change and the enduring struggle for justice. It's a book that reminds us to question the status quo and to stand up for what is right, even when it's difficult. This is why it remains my all-time favorite book.
