ПОЖАЛУЙСТА!!!Помогите написать эссе по английскому на тему "what are we going to do with all this
litter?"Ответы на вопрос
Everybody knows that our environment today is endangered, but very few people want to know why and how to cope with this problem. Various forms of pollution are happening due to some careless human actions.
Littering is one of them. It can lead to water and air pollution, land and soil pollution, and to many other unwanted effects. Litter has become a serious environmental issue nowadays. Of course, the majority of normal people know that littering is a negative thing. However, there are still lots of careless people who continue scattering their trash around. Litter can come in many various forms, starting from simple newspapers and proceeding to poisonous chemicals left from industry. People buy more and more unnecessary things every day, instead of reviving their old things. For example, instead of buying a new pair of shorts, we can simply shorten our old jeans. Or, instead of buying a new plastic bottle of water, we can simply refill the old one. People forget that plastic is highly harmful for the environment. In case they still buy many plastic bottles, they should at least recycle them.
Stepping back from personal litter, factories and their owners should be more environment-oriented as well. Every year millions of chemicals are thrown into water and air. Thus, we get dirty seas and oceans, where even fishes die out, and gas polluted air, which is the cause of many health problems.
The harm from littering can be prevented only by overcoming human ignorance. When people start reducing their litter, reusing and recycling their everyday items, our planet will become a better place to live.
Certainly! Here's an essay on the topic "What Are We Going to Do with All This Litter?"
Title: What Are We Going to Do with All This Litter?
Introduction:
Litter is an ever-increasing problem that plagues our planet, tarnishing its natural beauty and harming the environment in significant ways. From plastic bottles to cigarette butts, litter can be found almost everywhere, be it urban areas, beaches, forests, or oceans. This essay explores the consequences of littering, its impact on the environment and wildlife, and proposes effective solutions to tackle this global challenge.
Body:
- The Consequences of Littering:
Littering has far-reaching consequences that extend beyond mere aesthetic concerns. Firstly, it poses a severe threat to wildlife. Animals can mistakenly ingest litter, leading to fatal injuries or poisoning. Additionally, plastic waste takes hundreds of years to decompose, lingering in the environment and causing long-term harm to ecosystems. Secondly, litter negatively affects human health, as decomposing waste can contaminate water sources and spread diseases. Moreover, littered areas tend to attract pests and rodents, increasing the risk of infections and creating unsanitary conditions for communities.
- The Environmental Impact:
The environmental impact of littering is devastating. Plastic waste, in particular, has emerged as a major concern, with millions of tons ending up in the oceans each year. This contributes to the formation of colossal floating garbage patches, harming marine life and disrupting the delicate balance of marine ecosystems. Litter also leads to soil pollution, preventing proper plant growth and affecting agricultural productivity. Additionally, littering contributes to air pollution when waste is burned, releasing harmful toxins and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
- Individual and Societal Responsibility:
Addressing the litter problem requires a collective effort from individuals, communities, governments, and businesses. Firstly, raising awareness about the consequences of littering through educational campaigns can foster a sense of responsibility among citizens. Schools and community organizations can play a crucial role in promoting responsible waste disposal habits. Secondly, imposing strict fines and penalties for littering can act as a deterrent. By holding individuals accountable for their actions, we can encourage responsible behavior.
- Recycling and Waste Management:
To combat the issue of litter, effective waste management and recycling systems are vital. Governments should invest in robust infrastructure for waste collection, sorting, and recycling facilities. This would not only reduce the amount of litter in the environment but also promote a circular economy, where materials are reused and repurposed, lessening the burden on natural resources. Encouraging businesses to adopt sustainable packaging practices can also help in reducing the generation of single-use plastics.
- Innovative Solutions:
Innovation plays a critical role in tackling the litter problem. Initiatives like ocean cleanup technologies that target floating plastic debris can help address marine pollution. Similarly, biodegradable and compostable materials can replace single-use plastics, reducing the impact of litter on the environment. Governments should incentivize research and development in these areas to accelerate the adoption of sustainable alternatives.
Conclusion:
The problem of litter is a pressing issue that demands urgent attention and action. Through collective responsibility, awareness campaigns, and the adoption of sustainable practices, we can mitigate the adverse effects of litter on the environment and safeguard the well-being of both wildlife and human populations. By envisioning a cleaner, litter-free world and taking steps to make it a reality, we can preserve the planet for generations to come. Remember, it is not just about what we do with all this litter; it is about what we do to prevent it in the first place.
