Відповідь:
Catherine II was born on April 21, 1729. How much can you talk about her? Definitely for hours. Did she make Russia better? Yes, absolutely. To my mind, she is truly Great, because she first of all she thought about her nation and their prosperity. Notwithstanding the policy of Catherine II was characterised mainly by the preservation and development of the trends laid down by her predecessors, it was with her, when many interesting changes took place in the country. For example, the state’s population has grown from 23.2 million to 37.4 million in 33 years. By the way, in terms of population, Russia has become the largest European country. At the same time, the population growth was largely the result of the accession to Russia of foreign states and territories, which were inhabited by almost 7 million people, which often took place contrary to the wishes of the local population. This woman was sensible and clearly knew what she was doing.
Пояснення:

Catherine the Great, also known as Catherine II, was one of the most prominent and influential monarchs in Russian history. She ascended to the throne in 1762 after a coup that overthrew her husband, Peter III. Her reign marked a period of significant transformation and modernization for Russia.
Catherine was not only a capable ruler but also a patron of the arts and culture. She greatly admired the Enlightenment ideals and corresponded with several prominent philosophers, including Voltaire. Under her rule, Russia saw a flourishing of literature, art, and education.
One of Catherine's notable accomplishments was her expansion of the Russian Empire. She conducted successful military campaigns that expanded the empire's borders and secured crucial territories, particularly in Crimea and the Black Sea region.
Catherine was also instrumental in modernizing the legal and administrative systems of Russia. She introduced various reforms aimed at improving the lives of her subjects, although some of these reforms were met with resistance from the nobility.
Her personal life was marked by complexities, including her relationship with Grigory Potemkin, a statesman and military leader who played a significant role in her reign. Despite their personal dynamics, Catherine and Potemkin worked together to shape Russia's destiny.
Catherine the Great's legacy continues to be a subject of both admiration and criticism. While she is celebrated for her contributions to the arts, culture, and territorial expansion, her rule also faced challenges and controversies. Nevertheless, she remains an enduring symbol of a powerful and forward-thinking ruler in Russian history.
