Ответ:

I think a street musician likes their work because it gives them pleasure.  These very creative people cannot live without their favorite hobby music.  Even though it does not bring them big money, even more it brings them big losses (instrument strings, paying for an apartment, etc.).  I’m even a little proud of these people because they do their hobby and don’t give up!

Street musicians, also known as buskers, are drawn to their work for a multitude of reasons, finding both joy and challenges in their craft. Let's delve into why they love what they do and what difficulties they face.

Why Street Musicians Love Their Work:

  1. Freedom of Expression: Street musicians have the opportunity to express themselves creatively without the constraints that might come from commercial music production. They can experiment with different genres, styles, and instruments.

  2. Direct Audience Interaction: Performing on the streets allows musicians to connect directly with their audience. The immediate feedback, applause, and sometimes even conversations with passersby can be incredibly rewarding.

  3. Flexibility and Autonomy: Street musicians have the freedom to choose their own schedule and location. They can play wherever they want, whenever they want, which offers a level of independence that is often absent in more traditional performance venues.

  4. Spontaneity and Unpredictability: The street environment is unpredictable, and this adds an element of excitement to their performances. They might encounter new challenges and opportunities every day, making their work dynamic and engaging.

  5. Community Building: Street musicians often become a part of the local community. They contribute to the ambiance of a particular area and may even develop a fan base of regular listeners who seek them out.

Challenges Faced by Street Musicians:

  1. Weather and Conditions: One of the most obvious challenges is dealing with the weather. Street musicians are exposed to the elements, and harsh conditions like rain, cold, or extreme heat can make their work uncomfortable or even impossible.

  2. Noise and Distractions: Busy streets can be noisy and distracting, which can impact the quality of their performance. Dealing with traffic, construction, and other street noises can be challenging.

  3. Lack of Stability: Unlike traditional performance venues, street musicians don't have a guaranteed income or a fixed location. Their earnings can be inconsistent, making it difficult to plan their finances and lives.

  4. Legal and Permit Issues: Depending on local regulations, street musicians might need permits to perform in certain areas. Navigating these legal requirements can be confusing and time-consuming.

  5. Respect and Recognition: Street musicians often struggle to gain respect as serious artists. Some people might perceive them as beggars rather than professional musicians, which can be disheartening.

  6. Security Concerns: Carrying expensive musical equipment in public spaces can make street musicians targets for theft. They need to be cautious about their surroundings and the safety of their belongings.

  7. Physical Strain: Playing for extended periods on the streets can take a toll on a musician's physical well-being. Standing for hours while carrying instruments can lead to fatigue and discomfort.

In conclusion, street musicians are drawn to their work by the freedom of expression, direct audience interaction, flexibility, and community building it offers. However, they face challenges such as weather conditions, noise, lack of stability, legal issues, and perceptions about their profession. Despite these difficulties, their passion for music and the unique experience of street performance keep them inspired to pursue their craft.
