They were also very clever people. The Mississippians even made a calendar; they used wooden poles and the sun to tell the time. They also had a playing field. Their favourite game was called 'chunkey. The Mississippians were also good farmers. They grew crops like corn and tomatoes and hunted animals for food. The reason why they left Cahokia is still a mystery, but some people say they left the city because there was no food. Did you know?
