In February 2007, around 200 paragliders, including German champion Ewa Wiśnierska, gathered in Australia to prepare for the World Championship. Despite noticing an approaching thunderstorm, they decided to proceed, relying on their skills to avoid any danger. However, as they took off, the weather rapidly deteriorated, leading to a terrifying experience for Ewa. Two massive clouds merged, trapping her inside the storm. She was lifted higher and further, amidst lightning and hail, causing extreme fear. Ewa reached an altitude of nearly 10,000 meters, higher than Mount Everest's peak, before losing consciousness. At such a height, with temperatures around -40°C and scarce oxygen, death seemed imminent.
