Пояснения:

Some используется в утвердительных предложениях, а также в вопросах-просьбах и в вопросах-предложениях (Would you like some tea?; Can I have some milk, please?).

Any используется в отрицаниях и вопросах, а также в утвердительных предложениях в значениях "какой-либо", "любой", "всякий" (Any obstacle makes us stronger).

Также следует обращать внимание на конструкции there is/there are и их отрицательные формы, и, если они есть перед существительным, ориентироваться при выборе на них (отрицание = any, утверждение = some).
