Ukraine is my Motherland and I`m very proud to live here, so I`d like to tell you about my country. Ukraine is one of the largest countries of Eastern Europe. The capital of Ukraine is Kyiv. It is an independent state and it has it`s own government. It has state borders with Russia, Belarus and Moldova. It also borders on Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, in the south it is washed by the Black and the Azov seas. The population of Ukraine is about 45 million people. People who live in Ukraine are Ukrainians, they all speak Ukrainian, the official language of the country.In general the climate of Ukraine is moderately continental, being subtropical only on the southern coast of the Crimea.The biggest cities are: Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and some others.  Ukraine is developed industrial and agricultural country. It’s rich in iron ore, coal, natural gas, oil, salt and other mineral resources. Ukraine has such branches of industry as metallurgy, machine-building, power industry, chemical industry and agriculture. Ukraine has a rich historical and cultural heritage. There are many higher educational establishments, theatres, libraries, museums, art galleries in Ukraine. It’s also famous for many outstanding writers, poets and musicians.
